This name was chosen because at the time, many universities in the United States were just establishing integrative medicine departments, typically staffed by one or two practitioners and implementing fewer than four integrative therapy modalities. From the outset, ACIM planned to teach all evidence-proven and relatively safe integrative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches (hence the "integrative" in the name). ACIM is highly focused on connecting practitioners who want to learn these integrative therapies with those already proficient in them. ACIM also aims to connect patients seeking specific integrative therapies with practitioners skilled in those therapies. Therefore, the chosen domain name is ACIMconnect.com.
